Protect Your Home Gym And Yourself With Rubber Fitness Flooring
There are a number of reasons why people choose to set up a home gym. For some, it’s because they feel more comfortable working out in the privacy of their own homes. For others, they look at the cost of buying equipment outright in comparison to paying a monthly membership fee to a local gym.
However, regardless of why you made the choice to set up a home gym and regardless of what equipment you have bought or are planning to buy, there is one thing that must not be overlooked: exercise room flooring.
Weight Room Jargon 101
It’s hard enough getting technique right in the gym! It helps to know your weight room terminology to ask for help and generally to enhance your gym experience.
I’ll go through some terms you will most likely encounter on a daily basis in the gym
Let’s get started!
CARDIO- This stands for cardiovascular training/conditioning. This is the treadmill, elliptical, bike etc. This is the heart workout, fat burning, sweaty stuff.
RESISTANCE TRAINING-Also called strength and weight training. This is moving your muscles against an opposing force. The opposing force is the machine, dumbbells etc. This is the muscle building, bod toning, hard work stuff.
If you saw your neighbor jumping rope in the laundry room around 5 a.m. in the morning, what would you think?
I can’t afford a gym membership or fitness equipment right now. I also live above an elderly woman, who is very noise conscious, so exercise tapes for cardio is out of the question. Thus, I plan to jump rump for my cardio each morning, and train with free weights at home. Winter is coming, so I can’t jump outside, nor would I want to be that visible anyway. So I’m planning to jump rope in the building laundry room early in the morning before most people wake up. The floor is concrete, and it’s very large, spacious, and well lit. I’m sure someone may walk in on me at least once before the year is over, though it’s unlikely at the ***** of dawn(around 5 a.m.). What would you think if you found out your ADULT neighbor was jumping rope in the laundry room before the birds woke up? LOL
There are also windows and a waiting area in the laundry room, so it’s not isolated and dark like most basement laundry areas.
I’m also carrying extra weight, so I’m sure it will be a sight to see.

Selecting a Fitness Facility
In order to achieve your ultimate goal, you need to have some knowledge of health and fitness as well as motivation. While this does not mean you need to join a local gym, you will find it’s more successful.
When you’re in search of a new gym, you should take the time to find one that is compatible with your life, fitness goals and special interest or needs.
To determine your fitness goals you must ask yourself if you want to lose weight, bulk up, or tone. Whatever your goals may be, not every fitness facility will be able to suit you; and although it may, another one may fit you better than the other.
